An intelligence service was formed yesterday (06) by calling one or two people from all over the country to Colombo from among the people who are working for the community police service from every village implying an imminent threat to the national security of the country. This is the second time such people have been invited to Colombo.
According to the report, two people who are loyal to the government have been selected from among the people involved in the community police service in the villages, and the government will pay an allowance to those people.
The purpose of setting up the intelligence service is to suppress political activities, journalists and progressive people who oppose the anti-democratic movement that President Ranil Wickremesinghe is preparing to postpone the presidential election.
The so-called justice operation, which was brought to the fore under the guise of cracking down on ice and drug dealers, aims to keep the public at bay by preventing public uprisings.
Along with the establishment of the intelligence service, the government has started collecting basic household information from every house at the village level.
This discussion was convened under the leadership of Public Security Minister Tiran Alas and Inspector General of Police Deshbandu Tennakon.
Wickremesinghe’s capitalist government has no other path left but to suppress the working class in the circumstances in which it fails to solve any socio-economic problems of the people.
This is not only a problem facing the capitalist government of Sri Lanka, but a crisis of the capitalist system on a global scale.
The global workers-oppressed people can overcome the crisis only by wiping out the capitalist system on a global scale and the working class taking power with the help of other oppressed people.
The government’s plan to suppress the masses can be defeated by forming safety committees at the workplaces, as in the areas where the labor-oppressed people live.
