A young man who wrote “Fuck Israel” arrestedA protest was held in front of the Police Headquarters in Kompaniya yesterday (29) evening against the arrest and detention of a Muslim youth from the Nittambuwa area by the Terrorism Investigation Unit at Kompagna Veediya for posting a sticker on Facebook that said “Fuck Israel”.
The protest was organized by the Muslim Brotherhood, demanding the government to immediately release the young man who was being held illegally under detention orders by the Terrorism Investigation Unit. The Terrorism Investigation Unit has arrested a 22-year-old youth named Imfaz Ahmed, who worked at a supermarket in Slave Island.

Mohamed Mifilal was brought to the Dematagoda Crime Division yesterday on 29 afternoon and a statement was recorded.
The protest was held on 30 at 3 pm. Dematagoda Crime Division officers recorded Mifilal’s statement until 6 pm and then released him. The Dematagoda Crime Division Superintendent of Police has asked Mifilal to give a statement on how Israel is a terrorist country and how Netanyahu, Joe Biden and Donald Trump are terrorists.
He asked the police officer who gave the statement why you call Prabhakaran a terrorist. Mifilal told us that he pointed out that Israel has killed over 50000 Palestinians, 20000 of them were children, and that if Netanyahu, Joe Biden and Trump, who ordered the Israeli army to kill those innocent people, were not terrorists, then Prabhakaran would not be a terrorist.
On 29 at around 11 pm, a group of about 15 police officers from the Dematagoda Crime Division had raided Mifilal’s house. Miflal had called the Maligawatta OIC and inquired about the raid on the house and the OIC had said that it was something that was happening without his knowledge.
Later, the Maligawatta OIC had spoken to the officers who came to raid the house through Mifilal’s wife’s phone and said that they had come to search the house with a court order. That day at around 12 pm, the officers had gone to the Miflal’s Aluthkade party office and had asked him to come to the Dematagoda Crime Division to obtain a statement.

Mifilal had released a video online saying that a protest would be held in front of the police headquarters on March 27 at 3 pm to demand Ahmed’s release. In addition, 10000 stickers were printed, calling “Israel the terrorist” and Netanya hu, Joe Biden and Donald Trump terrorists.
Mifilal had pasted some of the stickers at his United Peace Alliance party office and a garbage bin in Aluthkade and posted them on Facebook. He is the propaganda secretary of the party.
Less than an hour after Mifilal posted on his Facebook that Israel was a terrorist country, about 20 members of the Maligawatta police force broke into Mihilal’s house and started raiding. The police officers who searched his house obtained a statement from Mifilal and informed him to speak to the OIC of Maligawatta Police. When Miflal spoke to the OIC, the OIC told Mifilal to come to the police to record a statement.
