Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Dayasiri Jayasekara says that the biggest theft committed under the National People’s Power government was committed by Minister Bimal Ratnayake, who accuses me.

Dayasiri Jayasekara, said that Bimal Ratnayake was the one who ordered the release of 323 containers that were to be subjected to customs inspection, held a press conference and said that he had been summoned by the Colombo Criminal Investigation Department for revealing the incident.

It was the customs trade unions that said that these containers may contain drugs, weapons and dangerous substances. We are requesting that these customs documents be given to us. When we talk about this, the government makes us guilty and files a complaint against me at the Criminal Investigation Department through a government henchman.

MP Dayasiri Jayasekara said this while participating in a news conference. The New People’s Front also filed a complaint with the Bribery Commission regarding the container incident.

The Director General of Customs says that these 323 containers were released on the instructions of the Co-Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, Minister Bimal Ratnayake.
